Just as the Haribo Gummy Bear tag line states "Kids and grown-ups love it"... it is also true with me.  I love to be loved and I am very gentle in return.  If you have been following my journey on our Facebook page, you already know I am a special gem.  If you have not been following, let me tell you about me.

I was rescued from awful conditions where I was bred over and over again, I lived on a very large heavy chain with a padlock to my collar, I have several scars from the elements outside and possibly from having to protect myself from animals while left outside, and the most important thing you need to know about me.. I have no teeth.  No, No, No, that is not why foster mom named me Gummy Bear (ok, maybe a little), mostly she named me that because I am sweeter than the candy and who doesn't love gummy bears?!

They estimate that I am around 4 years old, but it is hard to be precise when I don't have any teeth for them to look at.  I do require all soft foods and currently eat ProPlan can food.  My treats also have to be softer, but I also like frozen blueberries, frozen peaches, and frozen blackberries (the cold feels amazing on my gums).  Outside of eating soft foods, I am no different than any other dog when it comes to my care.

I would love someone who will let me cuddle by them on the couch, let me lay in bed with them and feel their warmth, hang out with me outside while we soak up the sun together.  I am very much a people person once I warm up, I want to be close all the time.  I am rather calm, I nap a lot and I like to lay by doors and look outside.  I am still learning to walk on a leash as I don't understand that contraption the best yet and I am about 95% housebroken.

I do need a home with older or calmer dogs and I cannot be with cats.  Also, I need to go to a home with no kids younger than 8-10 years old.  With my background being a rough one, commotion and loud noises can scare me pretty easily so I need somewhere peaceful.  I do love car rides though, and I would make an excellent partner for traveling!

I will be spayed prior to the adoption being finalized.

If you think you are the special family or person for me, please fill out an application and let's show the world what a real Gummy Bear looks like!
